Have 70 million euros to spare? Churchill's yacht sailing the Canary Islands is up for sale.

The historic yacht that carried Churchill around the Canary Islands is seeking an owner for "only" 70 million euros.

If you have 70 million euros gathering dust in your bank account and want to feel like a real head of state, this is your chance. As reported by the newspaper The SunThe Christina O, the luxurious yacht that transported Winston Churchill across the Canary Islands, is for sale. A true floating palace that has witnessed history and luxury at its finest.

This is no ordinary boat. Originally a World War II destroyer, Greek magnate Aristotle Onassis bought it and transformed it into an exclusive superyacht. John F. Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Prince Rainier of Monaco, and, of course, Winston Churchill, have all graced its corridors.

The historic British politician visited the Canary Islands in 1959, seeking a climate more conducive to his health. Although he stayed at the Hotel Taoro in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, his visit to the archipelago also took him to Gran Canaria, where he was impressed by its landscapes.

Paradoxically, during World War II, Churchill even considered invading the Canary Islands to prevent them from falling under German control. Ultimately, the operation never took place, but it demonstrates the strategic importance of the archipelago in the geopolitics of the time.

Today, the Christina O remains a symbol of exclusivity. It boasts 17 suites, a piano bar, a dining room for 40 guests, and even a pool that doubles as a dance floor. For those without 70 million euros to spare, it can also be rented for 700.000 euros a week. It's not cheap, but at least you can step onto the deck where Churchill once smoked his cigars before landing on the island.
