The Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) participated in the emergency, deploying a rescue helicopter.
A 32-year-old hiker was rescued by a helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) after falling into the La Culata ravine, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The victim, who suffered a moderate fracture, was evacuated to the El Berriel helipad and subsequently taken to the San Roque Maspalomas University Hospital in a Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) ambulance.
The incident occurred on March 15 at 13:02 p.m., when the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received an alert informing them that the hiker needed assistance in a difficult-to-access area. Since ground crews were unable to reach the scene quickly, a GES helicopter was immediately activated, rescuing the victim after immobilizing him and providing initial assistance.
The Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) participated in the emergency, deploying a rescue helicopter; the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), which activated a basic life support ambulance to transport the victim to the hospital; and the Local Police, which prepared the corresponding report. The intervention allowed the hiker to receive specialized medical attention quickly, ensuring his safe transfer to the hospital.
