A 62-year-old motorcyclist died after leaving the road on Highway GC-200 in the municipality of La Aldea de San Nicolás. The incident, which occurred on the afternoon of March 15, mobilized emergency services, but they were unable to save his life.
The incident occurred at around 15:05 p.m. when the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received a call informing them that a motorcyclist had left the road on the GC-200 highway and required medical assistance.
1-1-2 immediately activated emergency resources, dispatching a medical helicopter and a medical ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), as well as personnel from the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium, the Local Police, and the Civil Guard.
Despite the rapid intervention of the medical services, SUC officers were only able to confirm the motorcyclist's death due to the severity of his injuries. Firefighters and local police assisted with the emergency response, while the Civil Guard handled the necessary procedures.
Intervening services: The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) participated in the operation, with a medicalized helicopter and a medical ambulance, the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium, the Local Police, and the Civil Guard, who conducted the corresponding investigations.
