The 2025 Maspalomas International Carnival, a Canary Islands Festival of Tourist Interest, officially kicked off on Wednesday night with the presentation of the Queen candidates in all three categories and the thirteen candidates who will participate in the Drag Gala. The festival celebrates its fifty-first edition with a lineup packed with events and fun that will have the "love of Mexican culture" as a common thread. The event was hosted by José Croissier and Catha González, who welcomed the audience in Spanish and English, as there were many tourists who didn't want to miss the start of the southern carnival.

 

The audience, which included councilors Yilenia Vega, Dimas Sarmiento, Davinia Ramírez, Ruyman Cardoso, and Lucía Jiménez, was able to see firsthand the starting order of the six candidates for Grand Dame, the six candidates for Children's Pageant, the seven candidates for Carnival Queen, and the thirteen drag queens vying for victory. The draw, which determined the starting order for the four aforementioned galas, yielded the following results:
