The atmosphere of grand evenings was in the air, and Artistic Director Josué Quevedo surprised from the start with an opening set in Mexico, centered around the film Coco. Ernesto de la Cruz was also present, as were the songs "Recuérdame" and "Un poco loco," which were sung at the top of their lungs from the packed stands at the Yumbo Shopping Center. Young singer Mario Falero was in charge of hosting the gala.

As expected, and in keeping with this year's theme, it could be said that the film "Coco" was one of the main stars of the night of the Children's Pageant of the 2025 Maspalomas International Carnival, a Festival of Tourist Interest in the Canary Islands. The gala was filled with Mexican references, with songs and references from the aforementioned film standing out. This was also true in the fantasies of the top three candidates, widely applauded by the audience, and especially in the performance of the winner, Aylin Climent Padrón, who came on stage with the song "Recuérdame."

The gala reached its midpoint with magnificent performances by the Emily Domínguez Dance Academy, the Dunia Morales Ballet, the Carmen Cabrera Dance School, and "Los Kids de Levi y Estrella," all from the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. At that moment, it became clear that there is a wealth of artistic talent in southern Gran Canaria. As Artistic Director Josué Quevedo mentioned at the Press Conference: the pool of dancers, acrobats, and artists in general in Maspalomas is inexhaustible... This Carnival has a future.

The final three candidates paraded to applause from the audience, while the jury deliberated the difficult decision. On stage, the very young Ancor Trujillo captivated the audience with his voice, performing a retelling of great Disney songs with a Mexican touch.

Outgoing Queen Carmen Ateneri Hernández took the stage to thank everyone for their support and affection during her year of reign. She was joined by First Deputy Mayor Alejandro Marichal, who presented the winner with the crown and sash. Councilors Yilenia Vega and Elena Álamo, for Tourism and the Presidency, respectively, did the same with First Lady Valeria Cabrera Agudelo, who presented the costume "Forgive me, darling! You won't go to Yumbo with that hair," representing La Ballena Shopping Center, designed by Grisela Guardia Gómez. Second Lady Yamiley Encinoso López, with her costume "Cosita Linda," representing Divinity Club and designed by Masbe Creaciones, winners the previous night at the Grand Lady's Gala. Special mention goes to candidates Leire Portocarrero, Suhaila Lisbey Moya, and Sira Rodríguez, who also gave award-winning performances.

Finally, it's worth noting that some fourteen people participated in the creation of the winning costume. As her excited grandfather commented at the end of the gala, the entire process was completed in just twelve days, during intense days that began at 8:00 a.m. and ended at midnight, although sometimes the work lasted well into the early hours. Today, like the other candidates, they reaped the rewards of their efforts: the standing ovation, affection, and respect of the audience who turned out this Friday night in Maspalomas.
