The winner presented the fantasy "The Resurgence of Mawú" designed by Aythami Rodríguez Tavío, representing her own company, Clínicas Doctora Hernández.

Elvis Crespo made the thousands of people who packed the Yumbo Shopping Center dance with his hits "Píntame" and "Suavemente"

Saturday night had all the ingredients of a great night: good temperatures, a show carefully curated down to the last detail, the Canarian Michelle Calvó and Miguel Ángel Múñoz as presenters, a large audience that filled the stands of the CC Yumbo, the singer Jorge González, an internationally renowned artist like Elvis Crespo, and the seven candidates vying for the title of Queen of the Maspalomas International Carnival 2025.

The eagerly awaited opening filled the audience with "Mexican love." This year's theme is highly imaginative, and Artistic Director Josué Quevedo was able to exploit it perfectly: "La Bikina," "Cielito Lindo," and "El Rey" were performed, the latter with a spectacular staging. It was then the turn of the contestants. First, Elena Macias Socorro paraded the show "Más allá del horizonte," representing Dormitorum and designed by Sedomir Rodríguez de la Sierra. She was followed by Ana Pilar Suárez Rodríguez, representing Aeroclub Restaurant, Vistaflor Hotels, and Acomisaba, designed by Daniel Mena, with the show "Contigo."

The gala continued with Irune Navarro Garcia with the fantasy “Where the Green Ray is Born” representing AlInstante Producciones with a design by Ana Isabel Portocarrero Martín and Sarina Hernández Suárez, representing Doctora Hernández Clinics with a design by Aythami Rodríguez Tavío and the fantasy “The Resurgence of Mawú”, which ultimately won the competition.

The candidates' parade concluded with Andrea Suárez García, representing the Hotel Parque Tropical, with a design by Grisela Guardia and the "Woman" design, and Ángeles María Pérez Molina, representing the Edrey & Daido Fairground Attractions, with a design by Julio Vicente Artiles and the "Lalique" design. The candidates' parade concluded with Sara Jane Cícero, representing the San Roque Maspalomas University Hospitals, designed by Jonathan Suárez, and Luz Hogar, with the "Love" design.

During the jury's deliberations, the Baracoa comparsa and Elvis Crespo brought the audience to ecstasies. The American artist of Puerto Rican descent demonstrated his international stature by descending into the audience area and turning the Yumbo Shopping Center into a veritable party, with everyone dancing, including the local council of the Illustrious City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. After this magnificent moment, the nerves were palpable in the air as the outgoing queen, Dayanara Hernández Suárez, took the stage alongside the municipal representatives who presented the awards.

Yilenia Vega, Councilor for Tourism, Events, and Celebrations, presented the award to Sara Jane Cícero, the Second Maid of Honor. Alejandro Marichal, the First Deputy Mayor, presented the award to Elena Macías Socorro, the First Maid of Honor. Finally, Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez presented the scepter to the winner, who was later joined on stage by her mother and the designer, both very moved by Sarina Hernández's success.

The Queen commented that she felt very happy, as "Maspalomas is my home, and I couldn't be happier. It's been a lot of work, effort, and enthusiasm, of which only the tip of the iceberg can be seen. Going from zero to achieving these works of art that are fantasies is spectacular. I experienced it as a candidate and as a sponsor. I don't know if anyone else has, but we wanted to experience it this way, and we've been working on it since last year, so I've enjoyed the entire process. I think it was conveyed to the public, and I truly couldn't be happier."

The celebrations continue tomorrow with the Daytime Carnival. Sarina Hernández will experience her first event as Queen of the 2025 Maspalomas International Carnival, a Festival of Tourist Interest in the Canary Islands. Congratulations, Sarina!
