Ángel Medina Padrón, president of SPAR Gran Canaria, has been awarded the EY National Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 Award in the Social Entrepreneur category. This award recognizes entrepreneurs who, throughout their careers, have demonstrated a notable commitment to social issues, particularly through the creation of initiatives that generate a positive impact on the community.
After receiving the award, Ángel Medina Padrón expressed his gratitude and highlighted SPAR Gran Canaria's commitment to the primary sector and the island's social fabric. "The credit goes to all the people who have worked for this company, and everyone here is deeply committed to the primary sector. We have to contribute to ensuring that every farmer in Gran Canaria has a future," he explained.
The event took place at the Royal Tapestry Factory in Madrid and was attended by various representatives from the business and institutional sectors. The gala, celebrating its 28th edition, was attended by the Minister of Economy, Trade, and Business, Carlos Cuerpo, who thanked all the winning entities for their efforts in contributing to the creation of projects that drive economic growth and social well-being.
