With the aim of consolidating its growth in the Canary Islands, KPMG recently opened an office in Las Palmas, as part of its strategy to boost the archipelago's economic development. Located at Bravo Murillo 22, this new office reinforces its commitment to becoming a key ally for the local business community, especially in strategic sectors such as tourism and real estate, in an environment increasingly driven by digitalization and internationalization. KPMG's approach to these sectors is based on its extensive experience and deep market knowledge.
According to the management team: "This office will allow us to continue offering first-class advice to our clients, bringing great value to our team and those who place their trust in us." The firm seeks to lead initiatives that help local companies adapt to the demands of a changing world. Over the past year, KPMG's presence in Las Palmas has grown exponentially, quadrupling its staff of specialized professionals.
They grew from 15 collaborators to more than 44 experts, led by Agustín Marrero in Audit, Enrique Núñez in Legal, Jaime Sanz in Tax, and Heriberto Arias in Deal Advisory, who recently joined the team. At the inauguration, the president of KPMG Spain, Juanjo Cano, reaffirmed the firm's commitment to the region, stating: "We want to be an active part of a more prosperous, innovative, and sustainable Canary Islands, supporting companies in their transformation." Also present were the president of the Canary Islands Confederation of Entrepreneurs, Pedro Ortega, who highlighted the importance of collaborating with firms like KPMG to drive regional growth, and the President of the Canary Islands Government, Fernando Clavijo, who underscored the firm's role in promoting foreign investment and supporting small and medium-sized businesses in the archipelago. In addition, KPMG has appointed Fernando Martínez Comas as partner responsible for Tourism in Spain.
With a distinguished track record in commercial law and mergers and acquisitions (M&A), Martínez has advised national and international chains and large groups in the tourism sector, strengthening the firm's leadership in this field. He has also been responsible for Private Clients, working with high-net-worth individuals and unlisted companies.
