SANTA AGUEDA 2025 FESTIVAL PROGRAM

The coastal neighborhood of El Pajar is preparing to celebrate its traditional Patron Saint Festivities in honor of Saint Agatha from April 4th to 13th. These festivities are organized by the Saint Agatha Festivities Commission and subsidized by the City Council's Festivities and Events Department, led by Councilor Yilenia Vega (CC).

The festivities kick off this Friday with a parade by "Banda Isleña" and the opening speech by local resident and educator Sonia Ortega Martínez. From then on, for ten days, El Pajar will be filled with music, culture, children's activities, tournaments, street parties, and moments to share with the neighborhood's residents, such as the street party on Saturday, April 5th, featuring "La Tribu," "Grupo Arena," and the "Orquesta Furia Joven"; the market and musical performances on Sunday, April 6th, at Santa Águeda Beach; and the massive Pajar birthday party on Saturday, April 12th, with inflatables, shows, and fireworks for the whole family.

One of the most anticipated events will undoubtedly be the Pajar offering pilgrimage, which will take place on Saturday, April 5th, starting at 18:00 PM. All participants are reminded that they must come properly dressed in traditional attire, in respect to the essence of this popular festival, which pays tribute to the neighborhood's roots and its devotion to Saint Agatha. In addition, on Sunday, April 13th, the now traditional Great Fish Barbecue with Gofio and Mojo Picón will be held, one of the most delicious and crowded moments of the festivities, bringing together residents and visitors around the seafood flavor that defines the identity of El Pajar.

These festivities also have the support of the Department of Festivities and Events of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, which has made a significant budgetary effort to support popular celebrations in its neighborhoods and towns, increasing the amount allocated to subsidies in 2025 from €180.000 last year to the current €300.000.

Thanks to this increase, it is expected that nearly twenty festival committees and associations in the municipality will be able to benefit from this aid to cover the costs of organizing their patron saint festivals.

The council's office values the work of neighborhood associations and festival committees, such as that of Santa Águeda, which, with effort and dedication, keep traditions alive and foster coexistence in each neighborhood of the municipality. The Santa Águeda Festival is a demonstration of the collective commitment to continuing traditions and energizing the neighborhood's social and cultural life.
