A collision between two vehicles that occurred this Saturday morning on the GC-1, near Juan Grande, left three people injured and mobilized several emergency teams in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
The accident occurred at approximately 08:17 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, on the southbound GC-1 motorway in the Juan Grande area of the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Gran Canaria. The Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Safety Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received an alert reporting a collision between two vehicles and immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) treated three injured people at the scene. A 22-year-old woman suffered moderate back trauma and was taken by medical ambulance to Hospiten Roca Hospital. Another 73-year-old woman suffered mild neck pain and was taken by basic life support ambulance to the same hospital. A 33-year-old man also suffered mild neck pain and was taken by basic life support ambulance to Hospiten Roca Hospital.
Fire and Rescue Service personnel from San Bartolomé de Tirajana secured the damaged vehicles and assisted medical personnel in extracting one of the victims from inside the vehicle. The Civil Guard conducted the corresponding investigation, and the Canary Islands Police Force provided support in the area. Meanwhile, the Gran Canaria Island Council's Road Maintenance Service marked the affected section and carried out road cleaning.
