A 1-1-2 call mobilized emergency services this morning following the assault of a young man on Avenida de Canarias. The victim was taken by medically equipped ambulance to the Insular Hospital of Gran Canaria.
A 30-year-old man was injured on the morning of Sunday, April 13, 2025, after being attacked with a knife in a public street on Avenida de Canarias, in the Vecindario area of the Gran Canaria municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
According to the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2, at 09:18 a.m., an alert call was received indicating that a person needed medical assistance after being attacked with a knife.
The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) immediately activated a medical ambulance and a basic life support ambulance, which were dispatched to the scene along with a doctor and a nurse from the Doctoral Health Center. The injured man was treated at the scene and later transferred to the Gran Canaria Insular University Hospital with moderate injuries, barring complications.
The Civil Guard and Local Police also responded to the scene, where they conducted the necessary investigations to clarify what happened.
