The victims, all residents of the municipality of Santa Lucia de Tirajana on the island of Gran Canaria, suffered financial losses ranging from 800 to 2.400 euros each after viewing advertisements on social media or attending events organized for this purpose, and were recruited to join the CREATORS ALLIANCE platform.
The Civil Guard requests the collaboration of anyone who has been scammed by the CREATORS ALLIANCE platform.
The cryptocurrency investment platform 'Creators Alliance' is under investigation by the Civil Guard after detecting an alleged pyramid scheme that has affected users in Gran Canaria and other countries. The financial losses are significant and could be global.
To access the platform, users had to convert their money into cryptocurrency, specifically USDT (Tether), which was the cryptocurrency used by the alleged perpetrators. The promised benefits were only visible in users' online accounts, and they were unable to withdraw them before the platform collapsed.
Creators Alliance offered financial incentives for recruiting new users, thus encouraging the recruitment of new victims. This modus operandi bears every indication of a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme: the income obtained by the victims came from new investments made by other victims, causing the system to collapse quickly.
Although complaints have been filed in Gran Canaria, investigations indicate that the platform operated internationally, causing economic losses in multiple countries.
The Las Palmas Judicial Police Organic Unit, through the Gran Canaria Team@, centralized the complaints filed at the Vecindario Civil Guard Main Post after detecting common patterns such as the use of the same phone numbers and cryptocurrency wallets to contact victims and divert funds.
The Civil Guard continues its investigation, analyzing the means used by the perpetrators, including the phone lines used to provide instructions to users and the digital platforms that supported the fraudulent activity. Data is still being gathered to clarify the facts and mitigate the financial damage caused.
What to do if you have been affected?
If you invested in Creators Alliance and suspect you've been a victim of a scam, it's a good idea to:
1. Document all transactions, screenshots, emails, and related communications.
2. File a complaint with the Civil Guard at offices that offer Citizen Service.
