Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-BC) has issued a statement strongly questioning Francisco García's continued position as mayor after leaving the party for which he was elected. The party believes this decision represents a direct breach of the commitment made to the public and a sign of disloyalty to both the organization and the voters who placed their trust in its political project in the recent municipal elections.
NC-BC has emphasized that its political action is based on principles such as consistency, ethics, loyalty, and collective work, and has stated that it is "unacceptable" for people to hold public office under its banner while participating in other political parties. According to the party, this conduct is "incompatible with our statutes, principles, and the respect due to the democratic will expressed at the ballot box."
As announced in a previous statement on March 30, the National Organizing Secretariat of NC-BC has announced the convening of the national executive committee in the coming days, where this and other similar situations will be addressed. The organization has guaranteed that it will make the corresponding decisions in accordance with its bylaws, ensuring internal democracy and the defense of its collective political project.
NC-BC has insisted that it will continue to work responsibly for institutional stability and the fulfillment of the programs committed to citizens. At the same time, it has reiterated its rejection of political defections, which it considers a threat to democratic transparency and which, it recalls, has been rejected by the majority of political forces within the framework of the anti-defection pacts.
