The Civil Guard has arrested a man as the alleged perpetrator of attempted homicide following a knife attack that occurred on April 13 in Vecindario, in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
The incident occurred on a central street in the town, where the victim was attacked and left with multiple injuries of varying severity. The rapid response of officers allowed him to receive initial care at the scene until the arrival of medical services, who ordered his urgent transfer to the Insular Hospital of Gran Canaria.
Upon learning of the incident, the Civil Guard launched an intensive search to locate the perpetrator. The operation included interviews with witnesses, analysis of images captured in the surrounding area, and cross-checking of data. The alleged assailant was ultimately located and arrested at a home in San Fernando, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, just 10 hours after the attack.
The investigation remains open to determine the motives for the attack. The case, along with the suspect, has been handed over to the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Duty Court.
