A fire broke out in a house in Santa Lucía de Tirajana mobilized several emergency services on Wednesday. The incident left a minor injured with moderate burns.
A 12-year-old child was injured this Wednesday, April 16, after a fire broke out in a home located on Corredera Street, in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. The incident occurred at 12:09 p.m., when the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received an alert reporting a fire at the building.
The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) treated a child at the scene with moderate burns, barring complications. After providing initial medical care on the spot, he was transported in a basic life support ambulance to the Canary Islands University Maternal and Child Hospital.
Members of the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium extinguished the flames, while the local police collaborated with the medical services and secured the area. The Civil Guard took charge of the corresponding procedures.
Among the resources activated by CECOES 1-1-2 were a medicalized ambulance and a basic life support ambulance from the SUC, personnel from the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium, the Local Police, and the Civil Guard.
