The Bushican Judo Club, from San Bartolomé de Tirajana, attended the event with two representatives
Last weekend the Gallur Municipal Sports Center, in Madrid, hosted the 2021 Spanish School Judo Championship, where the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana was represented with two judokas from the Bushican Club; Aixel Ramírez and Alejandra Rodríguez.
The competition, organized by the Spanish Judo Federation, was aimed at athletes born in 2004, 2005 and 2006 - for the cadet category - and born between 2007 and 2008 for the participants in the children's category.
After the flight to Madrid, the accreditation and the weigh-in, Aixel Ramírez was proclaimed Spanish Champion in the +66kg category by defeating the judoka Guillem Lozano. This has been, without a doubt, a victory resulting from Aixel's dedication and commitment to this sport.
Aixel began judo at the age of 3 at the CEIP Alcalde Marcial Franco as an extracurricular activity and at the age of 9 he began at the facilities of the Bushican Judo Sports Club. Since then he has always been characterized by his perseverance and effort, achieving the champion medal in many competitions during the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons.

For her part, Alejandra Rodríguez lives in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and travels every day to the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana to prepare as best as possible for the competitions. On this occasion she competed in the -44kg category, achieving seventh place out of a total of 18 athletes. “In general terms, our Judokas have had an excellent competition, they have grown a lot as athletes,” exclaimed the coach and director of the club, Jonathan Hernández.
The Bushican Judo Club was founded in September 2014 by national Judo master Jonathan Hernández Santana. Its main headquarters is located in the Sports City of Maspalomas and currently has more than 130 federated athletes and 4 school centers where the club teaches judo classes as a school activity.
The high level of its judokas has led them to achieve good results in the different competitions they attend. Right now your efforts are focused on preparing for your next appointment; the Spanish Children's / Cadet Cup, which will take place on December 18 in the Tenerife municipality of Granadilla de Abona.
