Three young people were injured this Thursday in a traffic accident in southern Gran Canaria. The vehicle they were traveling in overturned on Avenida de Cristóbal Colón, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
The incident occurred at 06:19 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 received an alert reporting the overturning of a car with people trapped inside. Firefighters from the municipal Fire and Rescue Service managed to free the three occupants of the crashed vehicle. Personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) assessed and treated the injured at the scene. One of them, a 22-year-old man, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Hospiten Roca by medical ambulance. Another victim, a 24-year-old man, also with moderate injuries, was evacuated by basic life support ambulance to San Roque Maspalomas Hospital. The third victim, a 25-year-old man, suffered mild neck pain and was taken to the same hospital by medical ambulance.
Responding services: Two basic life support ambulances and one medical ambulance from the SUC (Sector of Emergency Units), as well as personnel from the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Fire and Rescue Service, participated in the emergency. The Local Police also assisted, and the Civil Guard took the corresponding report.
