Emergency services acted quickly this Saturday to control a fire that affected vegetation in the San Fernando area near the old dog track, within the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
The fire broke out at 15:30 p.m. this Saturday, April 26, in a vegetation-covered area in San Fernando. Emergency resources were quickly activated to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to urban areas. Thanks to the immediate response, the flames were brought under control without causing major damage.
Emergency services report that the vegetation fire in San Fernando is under control and poses no risk to the population. The visible smoke in the area is due to the safe extinguishing efforts.
The firefighting efforts involved personnel from the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Fire and Rescue Service, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Local Police, the National Police, the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES), and the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2, who coordinated efforts to stabilize the situation as quickly as possible.
