The collision occurred early this morning on one of the busiest roads in Santa Lucía de Tirajana. One of the occupants had to be freed by firefighters.
Three people were moderately injured, including two minors, after a traffic accident occurred this Wednesday on Avenida del Atlántico, near the Hotel, in Vecindario, Gran Canaria, in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. The accident occurred at 06:33 a.m. when a car and a van collided, leaving one of the occupants trapped inside one of the vehicles.

According to the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2, the incident required a significant deployment of resources. A medical ambulance and two basic life support ambulances from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), along with members of the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium, and officers from the Santa Lucía de Tirajana Local Police, arrived at the scene. The three injured—a 20-year-old man and two minors, ages 13 and 17—were treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to Hospiten Roca Hospital in San Agustín, after being stabilized.

Firefighters intervened to free the trapped occupant using rescue tools, secured the vehicles involved, and cleared the road. The local police regulated traffic in the area, which was partially affected, and prepared a police report. The cause of the accident is under investigation. Authorities emphasize the need to exercise extreme caution when driving, especially during the early hours of the day.
