The cultural activities program has organized the exhibition 'Interiores' by Silvia Matos, a training talk on Diversity for students, and children's storytelling for the whole family.

The 'Maspalomas Pride by Freedom' program, whose motto is 'There is no Pride without trans people. There is no silence in the face of hate', will begin this Thursday, May 1, with the activities of the cultural program that will begin with the inauguration, at 18:00 p.m., of the LGBTQIA+ book exhibition by Siete Islas Publishing House and the reading area in the Plaza del Yumbo, and, at 20:00 p.m., Ismael Lozano will present his novel 'Playa del Inglés'

 

Music and dance will once again take center stage on the Yumbo stage, starting at 21:00 PM, with the celebration of the 'Back to the Future. Part 1' Pop Party, featuring DJs Carlos Salinas and Iván Pequeño. All galas will be broadcast on streaming by the 'Maspalomas Pride by Freedom' YouTube channel.

Clothing exhibition for trans people

 

On Friday, May 2, the Yumbo Tourist Information Center will inaugurate the "InTeriores" exhibition featuring underwear for trans people, created by Gran Canarian designer Silvia Matos, entrepreneur of the brand "TransLingerie," and the reading area with books on TGBTIQI+ themes, which will be on display until May 11.

 

The idea and design of this exhibition is by Eva Pascual Rodríguez, coach and speaker expert in supporting families with trans children and adolescents and in raising awareness of trans people at work. Silvia Matos, andA businesswoman residing in Murcia, decided to create her own brand 'TransLingerie', aHe couldn't find underwear that fit his body.  

 

In the afternoon, the cultural program organized a children's storytelling session (16:30 p.m.) for families, featuring África Arencibia, a social worker, model, and activist, and the family section of the Chrysallis Canarias Association, in the reading area at Yumbo Square. At 18:00 p.m., a snack will be provided for attendees.

 

In the Diverse Literature section, at 20:00 p.m., Quico Marco will sign his first novel, "Maricón de libro," at the Siete Islas publishing house stand, located in the Diverse Literature section. 

 

On the Yumbo stage, at 21:00 PM, the "Friday Pride Live Show!" Gala, sponsored by Coca-Cola, will begin. It will be presented in two languages ​​by Rubén Dizá and Jia Miles, followed by performances by Trio Bellagio, singer Genene, and the group Free Vogue. To conclude the day, at 23:59 PM, the "Black & White" Party begins with musical selections by José Lagares and Jonay Bj.

 

First weekend events

 

The pool at the Hotel AxelBeach Maspalomas will host the fun "Please Disturb Pool Party" on Saturday, May 3rd, from 13:00 PM to 20:00 PM, with music curated by DJs Jonay Bj, San Keryton, and José Lagares. As part of the cultural program, at 20:00 PM, Ismael Lozano will present and sign copies of his novel "Playa del Inglés" at the Siete Islas publishing house stand in Plaza del Yumbo.

 

On the Yumbo stage, at 21:00 pm, the 'Saturday Pride Live Show!' Gala will begin, sponsored by Luis Hoteles, presented by Rubén Dizá and Jia Miles, which will give way to performances by Glitter Girls, Kimy Touw and the Canarian singer Mel Ömana, who participated in the semi-finals of Benidorm Fest with the song 'I'm a Queen' and who has received several awards for Best Album of the Year 2021 and Best Artist of the Year 2024. At 23:59 pm, the 'Airlines Freedom Party' begins, with the musical selection of Jonatan Tamayo and San Keryton.

 

In the Diverse Literature section, on Sunday, May 4, Judith Fernández will sign copies of the book "Seis veces tu" (Six Times You) at 20:00 p.m. at the Siete Islas publishing house stand, located in the Diverse Literature section. 

 

At 21:00 PM, the 'Sunday Pride Live Show!' Gala, sponsored by Dunas Hotels & Resort, will begin on the Yumbo stage. It will be presented by Rubén Dizá and Jia Miles and will feature performances by singers Thania Gil and Dácil Suárez, the Rainbow Gospel Choir, and Rubén Dizá. At 23:59 PM, the 'Caliente' Freedom Party begins, with musical selections by Iván Pequeño and Jonay Bj.
