Gran Canaria has strengthened its presence in Stockholm, where it participated with its own stand at the Grillät Mässan 2025 fair at the end of April, on April 25 and 26. It will also do so in Gothenburg on May 9 and 10, at the latest edition of Grillät Mässan. "This will be a new opportunity to consolidate a strategy that not only seeks tourists, but also ambassadors who return convinced that Gran Canaria offers something unique and lasting," said Carlos Álamo, Gran Canaria's Tourism Minister.
Álamo sought to strengthen its position in a strategic Nordic market, aligning Gran Canaria's offerings with the tastes of a discerning visitor who seeks more than sun and sand: authenticity, cultural experiences, and environmental commitment. Under the unstated but clearly perceived motto of "Savor Gran Canaria," the island's stand offered the Swedish public a direct insight into the island's flavors with tastings of Arehucas Rum and Tropical beer, two historic brands that not only evoke local flavor but also values of sustainability and closeness to the region. The reception was more than positive: visitors, distributors, and specialized media highlighted the balance between tradition and avant-garde that the island's offering exuded.
This presence is part of Gran Canaria Tourism's 2021-2025 Marketing Plan, which seeks, among other objectives, to attract high-value visitors and deseasonalize demand. And the Grillät Mässan fair is, in this sense, the ideal venue. Aimed at an audience that values responsible consumption, artisanal products, and meaningful experiences, it has allowed for the establishment of real connections with potential influencers and operators in the Nordic region.
