The accident occurred in the agricultural area of Hoya Grande, in the town of Tunte, when the victim was trapped between the blades of the power tiller.
The San Bartolomé de Tirajana Fire and Rescue Service responded this Thursday morning following an alert received at 08:43 a.m. from CECOES 1-1-2. A person had suffered an accident while operating a power tiller in the Hoya Grande area of the town of Tunte, becoming trapped with both legs between the rotor blades. Firefighters, the on-call doctor from the local health center, and medical personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) were dispatched to the scene, and were able to initially stabilize the injured person.

Firefighters managed to free the injured man after dismantling part of the tractor's mechanism. He was subsequently assisted by the Canary Islands Health Service's medical helicopter, which coordinated with the rest of the medical staff to transport the injured man to the ambulance. From there, he was transferred to the helicopter, which urgently evacuated him to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria, where he underwent surgery due to the severity of his injuries.
