A 29-year-old man suffered severe multiple injuries after colliding with a car on the Tejeda highway. He was evacuated by medical helicopter to the Doctor Negrín University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
A motorcyclist was seriously injured on the afternoon of Sunday, May 4, 2025, following a head-on collision between his motorcycle and a car on the Tejeda road, one kilometer from Cruz de Tejeda, between the municipalities of Vega de San Mateo and Tejeda, Gran Canaria. The Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received the alert at 17:32 p.m. and immediately activated the necessary health and security resources to respond to the emergency.

The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) transported the motorcyclist, a 29-year-old man, by medical helicopter to the Doctor Negrín University Hospital of Gran Canaria, after receiving initial medical attention on-site from the Tejeda Health Center. The injured man suffered severe multiple injuries at the time of initial treatment. The two occupants of the car, also men, suffered minor injuries and were treated at the health center before being transferred by a basic life support ambulance for assessment and treatment.
Civil Guard officers, Environmental Protection personnel, a Primary Care medical and nursing team, and SUC resources also participated in the operation. The Civil Guard conducted the corresponding investigations and cleared a nearby area for the landing of the medical helicopter, which enabled the rapid evacuation of the injured person to the Gran Canaria hospital.
