Maspalomas tourism showcases its social strength at its 2025 Work Showcase

HV MASPALOMAS24H Monday, May 05, 2025

The municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana is preparing to celebrate the 9 Work Showcase on May 2025th, an event that is establishing itself as a benchmark in southern Gran Canaria for promoting employment, entrepreneurship, and vocational training. The event, which will take place in the Plaza del Camelero at the Maspalomas Cultural Center in San Fernando, will bring together companies, educational centers, institutions, and residents for a day open to the public that focuses on local talent and economic revitalization.

Organized by the City Council's Department of Local Development and Employment, the exhibition seeks to directly connect employment supply and demand in a key tourist destination such as the south. More than twenty companies and public institutions will present their projects, open selection processes, and offer career guidance to attendees, while vocational training centers and third-sector organizations will showcase educational programs and social resources.

The scheduled activities include practical workshops, motivational talks, mock job interviews, and local innovation exhibitions, aimed at both the unemployed and young people looking for their first job opportunity. The fair will also feature a dedicated self-employment area, where entrepreneurs can showcase their business ideas and receive advice on launching or consolidating them.

The Local Development Agency emphasized that the Work Showcase "is a decisive commitment to a more just, inclusive municipality that is prepared for the challenges of the future," while highlighting the event's role as a "bridge between the educational community, the business community, and citizens who want to improve their employability."

In previous editions, the fair has attracted hundreds of visitors and served as a career opportunity for numerous residents of the municipality. This year, with the participation of sectors such as hospitality, construction, healthcare services, and commerce, the organizers hope to surpass the attendance figure and consolidate the event as a showcase of San Bartolomé de Tirajana's economic and social dynamism.

The fair will open at 10:00 a.m. and run until 14:00 p.m., with free admission and access to all activities. It's a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and, above all, work for the future.
