Ciara Lauve, the Canarian hurricane who seduces urbanites from Maspalomas

She's barely 19 years old, but Ciara Lauve, from the south of Gran Canaria, takes to the stage with the strength of someone who knows there's no turning back. The Canarian artist has made her voice a firm promise on the Spanish and Latin American music scene. Halfway between the vibrant energy of reggaeton, the melodic groove of trap, and the sensitivity of a ballad, Ciara doesn't just sing: she builds identity.

Her breakthrough wasn't accidental. In her teens, she asked her father—a lifelong DJ and singer—to let her record a song in his home studio. The result, which they innocently posted on social media, went viral. It was the sign. “Music was always in the house since I was little, but that moment changed everything,” the young woman recalls. Ciara Lauve was born.

But it was during the pandemic, during that hiatus that turned the world upside down, that the definitive connection was made: from the Canary Islands to Puerto Rico, her talent caught the attention of Menes, one of the most renowned producers in the urban genre. Three years of constant work gave rise to a more mature voice, a polished technique, and an ambitious project. In 2023, she released El Pacto, her first track. A year later, her definitive introduction would arrive: the EP La Ciara.

Seven tracks. Seven worlds. With key collaborations such as Cauty, Moffa, and Puerto Rican Jan Blankeee, this work showcases an artist in the making who isn't afraid of eclecticism or emotion. "I don't like to pigeonhole myself. I can do reggaeton, trap, ballads, dance... I'm inspired by artists like J Álvarez, Jory Boy, and Dua Lipa, but I want to sound like myself," she states matter-of-factly.

Her latest release, "LV," is a reflection of that boundless ambition. Recorded during a session in Madrid with producer Botlok and featuring Jan Blankeee, the song blends sensuality, flow, and polished production that sounds like a hit. It's no coincidence that it has become one of her fans' favorites.

And Ciara isn't just a promise: she's a reality. This summer, she toured across the country on a tour that took her to festivals like the Cook Music Fest and the Reggaeton Beach Festival, sharing the bill with big names in the genre. "It's amazing to see so many people singing my lyrics. Getting on stage no longer intimidates me; it nourishes me," she confesses.

But it hasn't all been easy. Among the challenges of starting a musical career at such a young age, Ciara highlights the balance between her personal and professional life, the constant pressure to innovate and stay creative, and learning the ins and outs of an industry that can be as brilliant as it is relentless. "I would tell the Ciara of her early life to be patient and trust. Every setback counts," she reflects.

What's coming, she says, is just the beginning. More music, more stages, more artistic exploration. Her name is starting to resonate outside the islands, on playlists, in collaborations, and in conversations about the future of urban music with a Canarian accent.

Ciara Lauve sings like someone who knows there's no plan B. And that, precisely, is her greatest strength.
