The mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana participates in the meeting of the Alliance of Tourist Municipalities (AMT) in London with the main tour operators and travel agencies in the British market.
This high-level meeting with the leaders and senior officials of the United Kingdom's main tour operators to directly address tourism issues was organized by the Spanish Tourist Board in London to reaffirm the ties between tourist municipalities and the main tourist-sending market.
The meeting, which Marco Aurelio Pérez attended accompanied by the Councilor for Tourism, Yilenia Vega Macías, was attended by, among others, TUI's director for the United Kingdom and Ireland, Neil Swanson, the CEO of the Association of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators of the United Kingdom, Mark Tanzer, and the CEO of Jet2, Steve Heapy.
At this meeting with leading British tour operators, the AMT mayors highlighted the progress Spanish tourist municipalities are making in terms of sustainability, integration, and tourism hospitality, issues the mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana emphasized regarding the multicultural tourist destination Maspalomas Costa Canaria.
The AMT was established in 2017 by the municipalities of Benidorm, Calviá, Arona, Salou, Adeje, Lloret de Mar, Torremolinos, and San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
