The surgical nursing team from San Roque University Hospitals and Urointec has been awarded the Best Poster Prize at the 19th National Congress of Surgical Nursing, organized by the Spanish Association of Surgical Nursing last week in Murcia.
Their work, which has stood out among many national proposals, highlights the key role of surgical nursing within the HUGO™ RAS system, an innovative robot-assisted surgery platform that has been a milestone in the Canary Islands. This system is jointly led by Urointec and San Roque University Hospitals at their Maspalomas headquarters, consolidating their commitment to high-tech, precision medicine.
This recognition reflects the commitment, professionalism, and scientific rigor of the multidisciplinary team driving the development of robotic surgery and highlights the essential role of specialized nursing in these highly complex procedures.
"This award fills us with pride, because it recognizes not only a line of work, but also a way of understanding nursing: approachable, humane, and deeply skilled," the operating room team notes.
On a day marked by innovation and clinical advancement, we want to pay tribute to all the professionals who make nursing more accessible and, without a doubt, more specialized.
