The campaign will be held on May 23, 24 and 25 throughout the SPAR supermarket network.
This year the chain aims to exceed the 28.863 kilos of food collected in 2024.
SPAR Gran Canaria stores will once again become food collection points as part of the Spring Collection charity campaign, from May 23 to 25, thus joining the Las Palmas Food Bank's charitable efforts.
The general manager of SPAR Gran Canaria, Dunia Pérez, and the president of the Las Palmas Food Bank, Pedro Miguel Llorca, reaffirmed their commitment this Thursday to a fundamental initiative to support the most vulnerable families in Gran Canaria.
During that weekend, SPAR customers can donate non-perishable staples such as oil, milk, canned fish and meat, legumes, rice, pasta, water, coffee, and cocoa, among others. The food will then be donated to help families facing financial hardship on the island.
In 2024, SPAR Gran Canaria managed to collect 28.863 kilos of food donations through this same initiative. This year, the supermarket chain aims to exceed that figure and continue contributing to those most in need, maintaining a growth path that reflects the shared social commitment between SPAR Gran Canaria and its customers.
In parallel with this campaign, the SPAR group also plans to continue collaborating throughout 2025 on various charity campaigns, both its own and in partnership with social organizations, with the aim of continuing to generate a positive impact on the island.
The company has collaborated with the Las Palmas Food Bank for 25 years, delivering more than 57.900 kilos of charity goods last year and making numerous donations over the years.
SPAR stores are calling on all customers to contribute to this campaign, which aims to help thousands of families in vulnerable situations. In this way, the chain maintains its commitment to social responsibility and collective well-being.
