The Public Square of El Tablero was the setting this Thursday, May 15 , starting at 19:00 p.m. , of an emotional meeting on the occasion of Senior Citizens' Day , an event framed within the festivities in honor of the Holy Trinity.
More than 350 seniors gathered for a day filled with camaraderie, delicious food, and music, complete with traditional toasts and a generous spread of traditional Spanish dishes including ropa vieja, Spanish omelet, croquettes, wrinkled potatoes, cheese , and other treats. The event benefited from the invaluable assistance of over 25 volunteers , who served at the tables and lovingly attended to the guests' requests.
The evening culminated with the opening of the dance in the plaza, to the rhythm of the Nueva Imagen group and their bandurria, who filled the air with joy and memorable songs. It was an afternoon, as highlighted by Yilenia Vega, Councilor for Festivals and Events of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, “to pay tribute to those who have built our history and continue to be the soul of our celebrations.”
