The public company Visocan will invest €18 million in the purchase of unfinished buildings to convert them into social housing. In Gran Canaria, 64 new affordable rental homes will be built, distributed between Ingenio and Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
The public company Viviendas Sociales e Infraestructuras de Canarias, SAU (Visocan), dependent on the Government of the Canary Islands and founded in October 1977, has approved the purchase of seven unfinished properties in several municipalities of the Archipelago, which will be rehabilitated for use as protected housing under an affordable rental regime. On the island of Gran Canaria, a total of seven unfinished properties will be rehabilitated. 64 homes: 46 in the municipality of Ingenio and 18 in the municipality of Santa Lucía de TirajanaThese homes will be available within a maximum of 18 months.
This action is in response to the public tender launched in May 2024 for the acquisition of unfinished assets on a turnkey basis, with total financing of €18 million, according to Visocan's managing director, Javier Terán.
