The San Fernando de Maspalomas festivities kick off this Thursday with the official opening shot: a moving proclamation that this year pays tribute to two beloved figures in the municipality, Roque and Andrés. The event will take place in San Fernando Square at 20:30 p.m., where the Sol y Arena Band and the City Dock Band will also perform, inaugurating a celebration that pays tribute to the 60th anniversary of these iconic municipal festivities.
On Friday, the festive atmosphere deepens with a day designed for everyone. In the afternoon, the Plaza de San Fernando will be filled with color and joy with family activities under the slogan "Leave Your Mark During the Holidays," inviting children and adults to participate in the creation of a commemorative mural for the 60th anniversary, as well as enjoy bouncy castles and themed workshops. It's a way to celebrate as a community and leave a collective mark on this symbolic anniversary.
Friday night is divided between two major events that embody the diverse spirit of the festivities. At 20:00 PM, the Magua Fest is positioned as the star attraction for the younger crowd. In San Fernando Square, the stage will transform into a massive dance floor with a powerful musical lineup featuring artists such as Nickzzy, Wos Las Palmas, Kilian Viera, Yet Garbey, DJ Conjurer, Kalobo, Becca, DJ Alejo Sánchez, and DJ Evando Moreira. This urban festival reinforces the City Council's commitment to offering up-to-date cultural and leisure alternatives designed for the younger generation.
At the same time, at 21:00 p.m., the Poblado de San Fernando neighborhood will host a new edition of Masparranda, one of the most eagerly awaited events for lovers of Canarian folklore and traditions. This grand popular revelry brings together more than a thousand people each year, including locals and visitors, who come together to celebrate the most authentic aspects of our roots. Live music from parrandas such as Las Dunas, La Cucaña, and Tumbados y Sentados will get everyone dancing, while the gastronomy will be provided by the Amigos de Maspalomas association, which will serve an impressive Canarian enyesque: nine pig's legs, ninety kilos of meat, four goats in sauce, one hundred kilos of wrinkled potatoes, and sixty liters of mojo sauce. An evening that combines flavor, identity, and a strong sense of community.
On Saturday, it will be the turn of the pilgrimage-offering to San Fernando, which has a different route this year. Carts, residents dressed in traditional attire, and folklore groups will parade through the main streets of the municipality to carry their offerings, which will be donated entirely to Cáritas. The day will culminate with a grand festival in the plaza, featuring Edwin Rivera, La Sabrosa, and DJ Yunes, who will provide the musical finishing touch to an exciting evening.
On Sunday morning, the little ones will once again be the center of attention with inflatable water rides and games in the plaza, while the afternoon will be reserved for one of the most memorable events: the Children's and Youth Queen Election Gala, presented by Adolfo Rodríguez and Minerva Hernández. A show filled with excitement, warmth, and participation that will bring an unforgettable weekend to a close.
