The construction company Félix Santiago has been awarded by the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council the contract for Project A1 of the El Tablero Open Commercial Zone Master Plan, centered on Avenida de las Américas, with a total budget of 816.517,59 and a completion period of ten months from the signing of the staking out certificate. The contract includes the development and provision of new amenities and street furniture, with the aim of creating spaces for relaxation and communication that will boost commercial activity and neighborhood interaction. This project is part of a phased plan for the refurbishment and improvement of the streets and public spaces of the El Tablero Open Commercial Zone, as part of an urban revitalization strategy promoted by the City Council.
The project is funded by the Gran Canaria Island Council through a direct nominative grant managed by the Ministry of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce, and Crafts, which covers 84,52% of the base tender budget for projects A1 and A2 included in the Master Plan. The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has also put out to tender the renovation of the Cercados de Espino soccer field and the adjacent multi-sport court, a project included in the municipal plan to improve neighborhood sports facilities. The project includes the comprehensive renovation of the soccer field's artificial turf, as well as general renovation work on the surrounding area and the multi-purpose court, with the aim of providing a safer, more modern, and more suitable space for sports. The base tender budget amounts to €467.096,63 excluding IGIC, reaching a total of €499.793,39 including taxes.
The Department of Sports emphasizes the importance of this project to "guarantee equal access to decent sports facilities in all areas of the municipality, including rural areas such as Cercados de Espino." The work will be completed within three months from the date of the survey report and will be executed in accordance with the technical project approved by municipal services.
