New developments in the Prosecutor's Office in southern Gran Canaria

The Ministry of Justice has published the call for transfers to fill vacant positions in the Public Prosecutor's Office in southern Gran Canaria. This transfer is part of the Ministry of Justice's internal mobility policy to optimize staff distribution and ensure better public service delivery throughout the country. Notable among the appointments are María Soledad Vidal Martínez, Elena Herrera Rodríguez, and Blanca Iris Hernández Cerdeira, who have been assigned to second-category positions in the Territorial Section of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Prosecutor's Office in Las Palmas. With the recent addition of these three public prosecutors, the Ministry of Justice seeks to strengthen the operational capacity of the Prosecutor's Office in southern Gran Canaria. The intention is to improve the attention and speed of case processing, contributing to a more efficient and citizen-friendly justice system.

The Prosecutor's Office in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, located in the south of Gran Canaria, plays a fundamental role in the administration of justice in an area that encompasses municipalities such as San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Mogán, and Santa Lucía. This area is particularly dynamic and complex due to its strong tourism activity, population growth, and the diversity of legal matters handled, including tourism-related crimes, drug trafficking, urban planning offenses, and the increasing management of civil and criminal disputes arising from urban development.

In this district, the Prosecutor's Office works closely with local courts, law enforcement agencies, and other public institutions to ensure compliance with the law and the protection of citizens' rights. The increase in population during the tourist season also increases the caseload, making it essential to have a strong and specialized team of prosecutors to adequately handle legal proceedings.
