SAMU is making moves at its centers in San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The company responsible for the shelters for migrant minors is looking for a new director for one of its centers in the municipality, which has three such centers: UATE Farabella, UATE Roque Nublo, and ARB Roque Nublo II.
The latter, the ARB Roque Nublo II, is the center located in Fataga that has recently been the center of controversy after an altercation in which a neighbor was injured and which subsequently caused the indignation of the town's residents, who demanded solutions from the center's director.
In this case, the company responsible for the shelters is looking for a new director for the Farabella UATE, located in Maspalomas. SAMU advertised this offer in one of the main job search portals and in his own website.
Some of the duties and responsibilities of the position include the care of the children in care, ensuring their rights, collaborating with the Public Prosecutor's Office in its oversight role, as well as with the services assigned to inspect the center's resources or ensure compliance with administrative resolutions, among others.
The position is open-ended, and SAMU requires two years of experience to apply. The salary range is €2 to €30.000 gross per year.
It should be noted that in the Meeting held by the Fataga Residents' Association with representatives from downtown Fataga (ARB Roque Nublo II), its director, Tamara Carballo, explained the internal regulations that apply to minors and some of her functions in the center in response to questions and complaints from neighbors.
Particular emphasis was placed on the nighttime count of minors, a source of complaint among residents, who claim that many of them wandered around the town every night, causing noise and disturbances. Carballo asserted that the night shift workers are responsible for this count and that mistakes could be made because "they are human."
