The General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) confirmed this Thursday new appointments that strengthen the judicial system in the province of Las Palmas. Royal Decree 480/2025 officially promotes several judges to the rank of magistrates by seniority.
Matías Martínez Gómez, currently a judge at the Court of First Instance No. 5 in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, has been promoted to the rank of Magistrate. Martínez Gómez will continue in his current position, thus consolidating his work in one of the most active judicial districts in southern Gran Canaria, one that has generated admiration among officials and judicial officials for his capacity for self-sacrifice.
Promotion based on seniority is a mechanism that guarantees recognition of the career and experience of members of the judicial system, thus ensuring stability and accumulated knowledge in the administration of justice. This promotion is key to maintaining the operational capacity and quality of the courts, especially in areas with high demand such as Gran Canaria.
Tatiana Mizyuk Mizyuk: Until now a territorial judge of the High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands, has been promoted to Magistrate. Judge Mizyuk will take up her new position at the Court of First Instance No. 4 in Telde, a move that represents a significant reinforcement for the second most populous city in Gran Canaria.
These appointments are made in accordance with Articles 311, 634.1, and 602.1 of Organic Law 6/1985, of July 1, on the Judiciary. The decision was made by the Permanent Commission of the General Council of the Judiciary at its meeting on June 2, 2025, following a prior agreement of April 22, 2025, which had already been published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) on May 5, 2025.
