MASPALOMAS24H Tuesday, July 01, 2025

Alejandro Marichal: "We want residents to participate in the decisions that affect our municipality."

Ruyman Cardoso: "The goal is clear: to work together to create a regulation that reflects the ideas, concerns, and proposals of all citizens."

The Department of Citizen Participation of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has launched the process for the development of the Regulations for Citizen Participation for Strengthen, in a transparent and accessible manner, citizen involvement in local decision-making. This process is based on two fundamental pillars: the Municipal Organic Regulations and the Strategic Participation Plan, as a foundation for building a more inclusive and sustainable management model. This will strengthen the relationship between the administration and citizens, allowing the municipality to grow in a balanced way.

The participatory process, which is structured in several phases, began in September 2023 with a series of informational meetings and meetings with residents, groups, and representatives from various sectors of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. During this first stage, concerns and initial contributions were collected, and work was carried out cross-functionally with various departments of the City Council to prepare the structure of the process.

The second phase begins today, July 1, 2025, focusing on collecting citizen proposals through a digital form. In addition, the draft regulations, an explanatory video, and the document with the complete phases of the process will be published. All content is now available on the City Council's official channels. The objective is clear: "To work together to create a regulation that reflects the ideas, concerns, and proposals of all citizens," emphasized the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Ruyman Cardoso. He added, "This is an opportunity for citizens to feel an active part of this collective project. We will do so with closeness, transparency, and active listening."

The First Deputy Mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Alejandro Marichal, emphasized that "this regulation was created to encourage real participation from residents. We want them to be involved from the very beginning in the decisions that affect their municipality."

This process will allow for the consolidation of a clear and updated regulatory framework governing participation mechanisms in the municipality. Over the coming months, various participatory activities will be carried out, including information sessions, the collection of citizen proposals, analysis of the contributions received, and a final feedback event with the results of the process.

The process will continue between October 1 and November 30, 2025, with citizen workshops to discuss and reach consensus on the proposals received through participatory processes tailored to all ages and levels. The final phase will take place in December with an open presentation of the results, where a full report on the status of each citizen proposal will be shared.

All information, as well as the form for submitting proposals, is available in the Citizen Participation section of the municipal website. www.Maspalomas.comThose interested in participating in its development can do so by accessing this link Citizen Participation Form
