Alejandro Marichal: "This service is another example of the Housing Department's commitment to facilitating access to decent housing."

Lucía Jiménez: "We want to ensure that people who truly need this help aren't left out due to lack of information or fear of bureaucracy."

The Housing Department of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, led by Lucía Jiménez (CC), has launched a service to make it easier for the municipality's residents to process the grants promoted by the Gran Canaria Island Council's Housing Consortium, aimed at improving housing accessibility for people with limited financial resources.

Thus, the Housing social worker will offer these individuals free advice, help with gathering documentation, writing the application, and monitoring their case.

These grants are aimed at people with disabilities, reduced mobility, or dependents, as well as those who live with them. They will finance installations such as ramps, stairlifts, platform lifts, and home automation systems, with a maximum grant of €7.000 per home. The deadline for submitting applications is July 30th.

To qualify for these grants, interested parties must submit an official application along with a single document that includes: a copy of their ID, a certificate of residence in the municipality, documentation reflecting their financial situation, and a report detailing their social circumstances and housing conditions.

Housing Councilor Lucía Jiménez emphasized that "the goal is to ensure that people who truly need this assistance are not left out due to a lack of information or fear of bureaucracy." For his part, First Deputy Mayor Alejandro Marichal noted that "this service is yet another example of the Housing Department's commitment to facilitating access to decent housing. This action is part of the roadmap to continue modernizing the municipality and responding to the housing challenge."

Those interested can make an appointment with the Housing Department by calling 928 723 400, extensions 1413, 1002, or 1042.
