The Department of Festivities and Events of San Bartolomé de Tirajana kicks off the festivities in honor of Santiago Apóstol, which kick off with a bang this weekend, with a program that combines history, faith, popular culture, and a family atmosphere.

Friday 11th: Opening speech, tapas, wines and live music
On Friday, July 11, at 20:00 p.m., Manolo Santos will deliver the opening speech at the Tunte church. Following the ceremony, at 21:00 p.m. in the public square, the Tapas and Wine Night will be held, a gathering to enjoy local products and live music with a performance by the group Mujeres D and singer-songwriter Kilian Viera.
Saturday 12th: Descent of Santiago el Chico and Canarian tradition
On Saturday, July 12th, at 18:30 p.m. in El Pinar, the traditional Descent of the image of Santiago el Chico will begin, organized in collaboration with the Santa Lucía de Tirajana Cultural Association. The event includes an initial Mass in El Pinar. As every year, Global buses will provide collective transportation for those attending the Mass in El Pinar de Santiago and to the Descent meeting point in Degollada de Cruz Grande.
Starting at 22:00 p.m., TendereTunte will begin in Tunte Square, where the parrandas and folk groups El Perenquén, El Parralero, and Surco will liven up the festivities while locals enjoy a traditional dance and the Grand Taifa Dance.
Sunday 13th: Hi-Fi stopover for the whole family
On Sunday, July 13th, at 20:00 PM in Tunte Square, a special edition of La Escala in Hi-Fi will be held, featuring the Emily Domínguez Ballet and a visit from the character Stitch. This event is designed for the enjoyment of families, especially children.
