Three young women were rescued from the sea in San Bartolomé de Tirajana after being endangered on San Agustín beach. The intervention of the Red Cross and other emergency services was crucial in preventing further consequences.
Several minors were rescued this Saturday on San Agustín beach, in southern Gran Canaria, after finding themselves in difficulty in the water. The swift action of a Red Cross boat, immediately activated, allowed the young people to be rescued successfully. A Red Cross lifeguard also participated in the operation, who, despite being off duty, voluntarily responded upon seeing the emergency.
The children were treated on-site by specialized personnel and later transported by SAMUR Canarias ambulance to a local health center. Although the condition of the victims has not been confirmed, emergency sources confirm that the rescue was carried out efficiently and without major incidents.
The operation reflected remarkable coordination between the various services involved, including the Red Cross, SAMUR Canary Islands, and the National Police. The collaboration between these agencies was key to ensuring the safety of the children and the effectiveness of the rescue in a coastal area that, especially in summer, requires maximum surveillance.
