Alejandro Marichal: "These awards are a gesture of gratitude to those who, through dedication and effort, make it possible for our destination to be recognized and valued."

Yilenia Vega: "This second edition highlights the excellence of those who work in our municipality's bar and dining services."

The Department of Tourism of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council will hold the presentation ceremony for the 29nd Canary Islands Hospitality Awards 20 on Tuesday, July 00th, at 2025:XNUMX p.m., at the San Fernando de Maspalomas Cultural Center. This ceremony is part of the festival of Santa Marta, patron saint of hospitality services.

The event is organized in collaboration with ASEGO Canarias, represented by Ciona Ramírez, founder of this initiative, along with Nutrihotel, whose managing director is Antonio Garzón Beckmann. The organization also has the support of the Department of Tourism and Festivities of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, led by Yilenia Vega, as well as the participation of the Jilorio Association of Chefs, Pastry Chefs, and Bakers, represented by Yvonne Hernández; the Regional Association of Bartenders of the Canary Islands, represented by Antonio García; and the sponsorship of the company Emicela, represented by Inés Arecibia.

In its second edition, the Santa Marta Awards renew their commitment to highlighting and recognizing the work done in the various departments of the hotel industry. While in 2024 the honor went to chambermaids and waiters, this year the award will focus on the bars and dining areas. The event will include an institutional presentation, audiovisual screenings about the winners, a presentation of awards, a musical performance, and a final toast.

This year, six hotel companies, two restaurants, one performance venue, several hospitality suppliers, and one industry professional will be recognized. Each award-winning organization will also receive two individual awards: one for the longest-serving professional and another for the professional most highly rated by customers or their peers.

Councilor for Tourism and Celebrations, Yilenia Vega, emphasized that "with this new edition, we continue to highlight the professionalism of the restaurant and bar staff at the municipality's establishments, recognizing both outstanding companies and workers who, through effort and commitment, have earned the appreciation of the sector and their customers."

For his part, the First Deputy Mayor, Alejandro Marichal, emphasized that "the hospitality industry is one of the pillars of our municipality, and these recognitions represent a show of gratitude to the people who give their all to provide quality service." Along these lines, he added that "this year, we wanted to recognize the career of Mr. Alberto Pernalete with an award in recognition of his professionalism, experience, and commitment. His recent passing has turned this recognition, which we wanted to give him during his lifetime, into a heartfelt posthumous tribute to someone who had already been distinguished for his impact on the sector and among his peers."

The celebration of the 2025nd Canary Islands Hospitality Awards in Santa Marta XNUMX continues an initiative supported by the institutional and professional sector, aiming to highlight the work of those who are part of the municipality's main economic engine.
