The Department of Festivities and Events of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council concludes the program of the patron saint festivities in honor of Santiago Apóstol with a weekend full of events for all audiences.
Friday 25th: Great Day of Santiago Apóstol
The celebrations will begin at 05:00 a.m. with the traditional Diana Floreada (Flowered Diana) through the streets of Tunte, accompanied by the Banda Isleña (Isleña Band). At 12:00 p.m., the Solemn Eucharist will be celebrated, presided over by Don Francisco Mira, Permanent Deacon, and sung by the Roca Canaria Group. After the Mass, the statue of Santiago Apóstol will be paraded through the town's streets in a procession, accompanied by the Pequeña Estefanía band.
The evening will feature the Grand Santiago Gala "With a Woman's Soul" at 20:30 p.m., a moving tribute to Rosy Ortega. The event, hosted by actress Yanely Hernández, will feature performances by the City Dock Band and the Conchy Rodríguez Ballet. The evening will close with a performance by the Reina de Sal Group.
Saturday 26th: Day for the whole family
On Saturday, July 26, the program is geared toward families. At 17:00 PM, Plaza de Tunte will host the Family Grand Prix, a fun and participatory activity for the whole family to enjoy. Later that evening, at 21:00 PM, there will be an outdoor Summer Cinema session.
Sunday 27th: White Party to bid farewell to the festivities
The festivities will conclude on Sunday, July 27th, with the highly anticipated White Party, starting at 16:00 PM in Plaza de Tunte. This event will feature performances by the La Sabrosa Orchestra, Son del Caney, and DJ Latino, inviting residents and visitors to dress in white and enjoy the music and conviviality.
