The supermarket chain is holding the 'Cooking with SPAR Gran Canaria' workshops, an initiative that promotes the development of practical skills.
The SPAR Gran Canaria supermarket chain has renewed its agreement with the Las Palmas Down Syndrome Association for the seventh consecutive year, this time including the launch of the "Cooking with SPAR Gran Canaria" workshops, which will take place in a completely renovated space. Thanks to this commitment, both organizations will continue working together to promote the autonomy and inclusion of the association's members.
The president of the Down Syndrome Association of Las Palmas, Yurena María Domínguez Álamo, and the organization's manager, Ángel Sosa Peñate, formalized the agreement with representatives from SPAR Gran Canaria. Representing the chain were President Ángel Medina; Vice President José López; and General Manager Dunia Pérez, who reaffirmed the joint commitment between the two organizations.
In this regard, SPAR Gran Canaria, committed to social inclusion and well-being, has reiterated its interest in developing the cooking classroom, which seeks to foster personal autonomy and the acquisition of practical skills, as well as promote the social integration of people with Down syndrome.

SPAR Gran Canaria collaborates with local associations to ensure that these workshops have the necessary resources to offer enriching experiences tailored to each individual's needs. Through the donation of food, materials, and logistical support, it reaffirms its commitment to a more just, inclusive, and supportive society, where everyone has the opportunity to develop their potential.
In addition, starting in September, cooking workshops will be held every Monday as part of the Association's activities. These workshops will teach students basic cooking techniques, knowledge and use of utensils, and how to prepare healthy recipes.
Committed to its corporate social responsibility policy, SPAR Gran Canaria reaffirms its support for the Las Palmas Down Syndrome Association, backing its work serving more than 120 families in the province of Las Palmas, a task it has carried out for more than 37 years.
