The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has formalized its adherence to a state and regional agreement for the implementation of a new IT application, SEGISS, which will modernize the management of its social services. The recently published resolution confirms the municipality's incorporation into this agreement signed between the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption, and the 2030 Agenda and the Government of the Canary Islands.
The main objective of this initiative is to replace the old SIUSS system with the new digital platform, which will facilitate the management and exchange of information between administrations. The city council's participation, agreed upon by the plenary session on May 20, makes San Bartolomé de Tirajana part of this effort to digitalize public administration and streamline citizen services in matters of social welfare.
With this signature, the municipality assumes responsibility for managing user data under the guidelines of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This commitment ensures that the transition to the new SEGISS system will not only be more efficient but will also meet the highest security standards to protect citizens' personal information.
