Maspalomas is preparing to host an international educational event organized by the Spatia Teacher Academy. From November 23rd to 29th, 2025, the town will host a training course for teachers and administrative staff, entitled "Don't Be Boring! Creativity and Mindfulness in XNUMXst-Century Education." The program's main objective is to provide teaching professionals with innovative tools to transform their classrooms.
The course is inspired by a philosophy that seeks to go beyond traditional methods, inviting educators to explore the connection between emotions, nature, and learning. Taking advantage of Maspalomas' unique landscape, the program will teach participants to use the sounds and textures of their surroundings as teaching resources, thus fostering eco-literacy, empathy, and creativity among their future students. The ultimate goal is to cultivate a more conscious observation of one's surroundings and oneself.
The initiative, part of the Erasmus+ program, is a key professional development opportunity for teachers and school principals seeking to modernize their teaching skills. Over the course of a week, attendees will learn to integrate journaling, visual art, and storytelling into their classes. The event positions Maspalomas not only as a tourist destination but also as a benchmark for educational innovation in Europe.
