The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, in Gran Canaria, has officially appointed new career civil servants to the Local Police, strengthening the municipality's command and security structure. The appointments cover the categories of sub-inspector and officer. Through a resolution signed on May 14, 2025, the City Council appointed Ignacio Caro Cano and David Ojeda Guerra as career civil servants in the category of sub-inspectors of the Local Police (Group A, Subgroup A2). Their appointments became effective on May 15, 2025.
A previous resolution, dated March 27, 2024, appointed five new Local Police officers (Group C, Subgroup C1). These candidates, who took office on April 1, 2024, were selected by internal promotion through a competitive examination. The list of new officers includes: Francisco Jonathan García Hernández, Francisco J. Morales Araña, Guacimara Ojeda Lorenzo, Rubén Carlos Ramos Santana, and José Alberto Santana Socorro. These appointments, which are already effective, strengthen the municipality's security force and are part of the management of the Human Resources Service of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council.
At the beginning of 2025, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council added 18 new officers to its Local Police force. These officers are 14 men and 4 women, aged between 25 and 43, who will begin their intensive training period next Monday, the 17th. Marco Aurelio Pérez then urged the new officers to "be generous and helpful in upholding and enforcing the law" and to "be duly involved in the daily work of ensuring the safety and rights of citizens with the professional rigor, knowledge, and composure required in the performance of their public duties."
