The authorities have taken a crucial step toward the modernization of Playa del Inglés with the approval of the license for the comprehensive renovation of Jardín del Sol, in line with Acosta Matos' strategy of creating leisure environments near the hotels he develops. The project includes the renovation of the Jardín del Sol shopping center and will transform the commercial perimeter to create a vibrant new leisure area.
The urban development will unify the aesthetics of some thirty restaurants and shops, including a supermarket. This modernization will give rise to Sholeo Park, a redesigned shopping area that will be more spacious and functional. At its center, a new plaza will become the heart of the business, designed to host events and leisure activities that will revitalize the area.
The city council, governed by the AV-PP and Coalición Canaria parties, estimates that the renovation work will be completed within four years, marking a turning point for the local community and the tourism industry. Deputy Mayor Marichal emphasized that the initiative "will have a direct impact on the local economy, fostering the creation of nearly 120 jobs in both the construction and tourism management sectors." Furthermore, the improved services are expected to benefit both residents and tourists.
City Councilor for Urban Planning, Davinia Ramírez, emphasizes the administration's commitment to modernizing the tourism infrastructure. "This investment is in addition to the more than 150 licenses granted during this term, representing a total investment of €146 million," concludes Ramírez, highlighting the firm commitment to renewing the sector in the municipality.
