According to AEMET Canarias, between August 17 and 23, 2025, the weather in the south of Gran Canaria will be marked by high temperatures, light haze in retreat and trade winds with significant gusts in exposed areas.
The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) forecasts that the weather in southern Gran Canaria will remain stable during the week of August 17-23, 2025, with mostly clear or mostly cloudy skies. In the south- and west-facing midlands, as well as in the Tejeda basin, temperatures could reach 34°C, while in coastal areas, highs will be around 28°C. The light haze will mainly affect mid- and high-altitude areas, but will tend to subside as the week progresses.
The trade winds will blow strongly on the southeast and northwest slopes of Gran Canaria, with locally significant gusts. Breezes will predominate on the southwest coast, softening the temperature along the sea. These conditions will also influence the state of the sea, where rough seas are expected on the most exposed coasts.
In the north of Gran Canaria, milder temperatures are expected, with highs not exceeding 25-26°C. Cloudy periods will be more frequent at lower altitudes, creating a cooler and more humid atmosphere. Calima will barely affect this side of the island, and sea conditions will be more stable than in the south.
