The athletes of San Bartolomé de Tirajana receive congratulations from Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez and thanks from the Department of Sports and Culture for promoting sports and culture in the municipality.
Athletes from the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana continue to achieve great individual and collective triumphs. From January to August 2025, they won a total of 208 medals in the national and international competitions in which they participated: 94 gold, 58 silver, and 56 bronze. Since June, Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez has been meeting with them to congratulate them on their achievements and personally thank them for "the effort, perseverance, dedication, and talent with which they are contributing to the advancement and promotion of sport in the municipality." More than 100 athletes practicing different disciplines and their coaches shared their experiences with the Mayor, Councilor for Sports Ramon Suárez, and Councilor for Culture Elena Álamo, who recognized their decisive contribution to the promotion of sport and culture in the municipality.

San Bartolomé de Tirajana is consolidating its position as a leading sports municipality in the Canary Islands, excelling in martial arts and contact sports, rhythmic gymnastics, swimming, hyrox, dog sports, mountain biking, windsurfing, weightlifting, and dance, among other disciplines. Among the most successful athletes are wrestlers from the Werdum Maspalomas Club: Benjamín Segura Ramírez, Iker Segura Rodríguez, José Fernández Trujillo, Iván Rodríguez San Agustín, Iván Rodríguez Delgado, Borja Santos Saavedra Santana, and Iván Navarro Martínez. Also outstanding this season are judokas from the Bushican Club: Antonio Aixel Ramírez Pérez, Leonel Rodríguez Naranjo, and Quintín Ignacio Siverio Sánchez.

One of the sports disciplines that has shown the greatest growth in recent years in this municipality and has reaped notable successes at the regional, national, and international levels is dance. This season, "Los Kids de Levi y Estrella" won 15 gold, 8 silver, and 9 bronze medals in the various pole, floor, and aerial categories. The Carmen Cabrera Dance School, with more than 40 choreographies, finished the season with 25 gold, 21 silver, and 15 bronze medals. Also notable was the Paso a Paso Dance Academy and the Urban Dance Academy, where its children's group Kids in Black and its young artists Joel Reyes, Joel Tejera, Gael, and Lorenzo shine. The Emily Domíguez Dance Academy also topped the national qualifiers with 15 first places, 9 second places, and 4 third places.
World Champion
In windsurfing, Liam Dunkerbec and Alexia Kiefer Quintana and her brother Carlos are making their mark; in mountain biking, Blas Rivero Betancor is making his mark at the national level; and in swimming, the Swm&Train Maspalomas Club stands out, with its leading figure Enrique Mata Díaz, world open water champion in the +65 category at the Singapore World Championships, as well as double Spanish champion in the long distance and 3.000m open water, and Spanish champion in the 400, 200, and 100m freestyle. Along with him, the same club also features swimmers Elena Sarmiento Guerra, long distance champion in the +20 categories in the 3.000 and 1.500m distances, and Spanish runner-up in the 400m freestyle; Uwe Tietjen, who finished runner-up in the +60 category in the 200m butterfly, and the members of the 4x750m relay team, Tatiana Mujica, Celine Shcarrer, Rafa Mena, and Enrique Mata, who won bronze at the Spanish championship in Ibiza.

The Agility Club once again achieved a great triumph at the Spanish Canine Sports Championship, where Salvador Silva Falcón, with his dog Keller, were crowned winners in the senior category. In contact sports, 16-year-old Iker García Borst dazzled this season, becoming the Canary Islands and Spanish kickboxing champion in the -75kg old junior category. Also standing out in this sport were Ayman Brhimi Benhmou, champion of Las Palmas and the Canary Islands and third in the national championship, and professional wrestler Jamal Raad. Club Wolffit is beginning to emerge at Hyrox, where its athletes Antonella Monti and Matías Dumpierrez have excelled this season individually and in mixed doubles. Meanwhile, Jorge Brito Pades, from the Ubuntu Maspalomas Sports Club, was crowned runner-up in the Spanish junior weightlifting category.

In rhythmic gymnastics, Club Corza's Maspalomas and Club Daisan continue to score points. In the former, the gymnasts Cynthia Ortega, who was crowned European Junior Team Runner-up with the Spanish national team, Ciara Lucía García, Emilio Daniel Rodríguez, Avril Breinburg, Mireya Suárez, the first-category team, its absolute U8 and UXNUMX youth teams, and the Iberdrola team made up of Martina Dunkerbeck, Dunia González, Inés Marína Pérez, and Aimara Magdalena Santana, stood out this season. In the latter, the gymnasts Náyade Pérez Castro, Karla Díaz Bolaños, and the UXNUMX youth team made up of Ainara, Elena, India, Martina, and Valentina, who won bronze at the national championships in Granada, achieved podium finishes. The absolute UXNUMX team placed XNUMXth in the Spanish Team Championships in Santander.
