A black market for drug sales has been dismantled in the El Patronato residential area in San Fernando.

9,81 grams of cocaine, 9,26 grams of heroin, 1.293 euros in cash and various effects linked to illegal activities were seized.

The detainee, with two legal claims in force, has been imprisoned after being brought before the court.

National Police officers, assigned to the Local Judicial Police Brigade of the Maspalomas Police Station, have arrested a man as part of a judicial investigation into drug trafficking in the El Patronato residential area in San Fernando, where great social alarm had been generated due to the constant movement of people and the unsanitary conditions of the building.

The operation was launched after receiving information through the National Police's internal channels, in which numerous residents expressed their perceived insecurity in the area. More than 200 residents had submitted a collective complaint expressing their concern about the serious situation, caused by drug use and dealing in public spaces and in the development's common areas.

Police investigations confirmed that the detainee, for profit, sold narcotics to numerous customers who regularly visited his home. During the investigation, it was discovered that some of the customers purchased and consumed cocaine and heroin inside the home, while others did so in public.

Following these events, the residence, considered the main drug dealing point in the area, was entered and searched. The operation resulted in the seizure of 9,81 grams of cocaine, 9,26 grams of heroin, €1.293 in cash, and various items related to previous illicit activities.

The detainee, who also had two outstanding legal claims filed by the Las Palmas Criminal Court, was brought before the Judicial Authority and ordered to remain in prison.
