The Maspalomas Gran Canaria Consortium is putting out to tender the remodeling of the Faro Maspalomas area, for 400.975,79 euros.
The works include repaving, a new accessible ramp, and modernization of street furniture, completing the remodeling of Paseo Meloneras.
The Maspalomas Gran Canaria Consortium, an entity comprised of the Gran Canaria Island Council and the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Town Council, has published the tender for the remodeling of the Maspalomas Lighthouse area, for a total of approximately €400.975,79. The project includes the comprehensive renovation of a 115-meter stretch of the Meloneras promenade, one of the most frequented public spaces by residents and tourists, next to the Maspalomas Lighthouse, a Site of Cultural Interest.
The project, funded by the Gran Canaria Island Council, Tourism, includes the complete repaving of the promenade and pier, along with the construction of a wide accessible ramp designed to facilitate and improve pedestrian mobility. The project will also include demolition of the existing pavement, replacement of curbs and stands, modernization of public lighting, installation of new street furniture, replacement of handrails, and repair of existing ramps and stairs.
The objective of the project is to increase the quality and attractiveness of the tourist area by improving the iconic Maspalomas Lighthouse, a landmark for both local residents and visitors to Gran Canaria.
Interested companies must demonstrate technical and financial solvency and commit to reducing the partial execution time for phases 2 and 3, in order to minimize the inconvenience resulting from the temporary closure of sections of the promenade. They must also carry out various complementary repair and adaptation actions during the construction.
The deadline for submitting proposals will remain open until September 10, 2025, through the Public Procurement Platform.
